Obesity is an increasingly common health issue. Yes it’s a known fact that obesity and health problems actually go hand in hand and it is a chronic (not just cosmetic) condition that is manageable if you know what to look for and how to deal with this ever increasing deadly combination.

Do you feel depressed because of the way your body looks? Are you in continuous pain throughout your body, or even more severe, are you suffering from high cholesterol, high blood sugar, or even heart disease?

Did you know that obesity can be caused by more than overeating. In some instances, its due to very common reasons such as:

  • Psychological conditions
  • Diseases related to insulin resistance and others
  • Frequency of eating

Obesity is usually but not always due to consuming more calories, especially people who intake an extreme amount of fatty foods that are not burned off through exercise and other methods.

Because of the society we now live in and its changing times, we spend an enormous amount of time sitting in traffic, in offices at desks, on sofas watching television or playing video games, or just not energized enough to do some type of very simple physical activity that is a must in order to stay overall healthy. But this can easily be avoided by changing our routine a bit.

These statistics suggest that people have to seriously think about their lifestyle and eating habits because obesity is becoming a silent killer and many are not even aware until it is too late.

Obesity is a complex disease involving an inordinate quantity of body fat deposition. As I mentioned earlier, obesity is not only a cosmetic issue. It raises your risk of ailments and health issues, like heart disease, diabetes, and higher blood pressure.

  1. Being a personal trainer in the past, I have to say your obesity post is bang on.

    As you say, lack of moving around is probably the number one cause of obesity. People are now glued to their phones or socializing online. This takes away from them actually having to go anywhere to do time some type of exercise.

    Right now my with, she’s not obese. But with the type of chemotherapy, she’s on moving around is not a possibility for her. So she has developed a fatty liver. Of course, having a fatty liver brings its own problems.

    For some, unfortunately, medical reasons make it difficult to get the exercise or eat right in the way that they should.

    Obesity and lack of sleep go hand-in-hand. If you struggle with one, you will struggle with the other. Which kind of brings us to a catch 22. They are stuck between a hard place and a rock.

People don’t know what to avoid, what food is harmful. That’s why early education at the school stage is so important to reduce the level of such diseases.

  6. Obesity is prevalent on my dad’s side of the family, and heart problems, stroke and high blood pressure run through my mother’s side, so staying active, fit and healthy are very important to me. And it’s so hard to get those pounds off once you gained them! I gained 30 lbs while in school, and I only finally lost them when I was going through my divorce due to stress. Not the healthiest way of doing it, for sure. I have knee problems from previous injuries, and I can tell you that the joint issues that were happening for those couple of years were not fun.
    I respect that there are people who are happy with who they are regardless of their weight, but it truly can be a health issue if you have a family history like mine. Being active, hiking, and soccer and a huge love of mine, so staying physically prime is a way that I can ensure that I can continue to do the things I love!

But even if genetically you have a tendency to obesity you still can control your weight with good diet and exercise. Usually, people like to blame genetics for being overweight, but when I look deeper into their people diet and activity levels I always can find plenty of mistakes people are making in their lifestyle.
